Hollywood films love technology. Because countless of us hate it.
Technology represents the newest, the unknown, that makes it the chewiest of movie fodder. For many years now, genre films have eagerly played into our collective unease utilizing the technology that surrounds us.
In spy films just like the Bourne show, the specter of 24-hour digital surveillance evokes our emotions of paranoia and dread.
In popcorn science-fiction films just like the Terminator series plus the art-house sci-fi of Ex Machina and, seminally, : A Space Odyssey, computer systems are forever attaining sentience and threatening mankind’s really presence.
And also as for horror films? Well.
They Truly Are . maybe perhaps perhaps maybe not specially subdued about any of it.
